The best part for me was seeing that Xilu mayor get vaporized by Mubai/ZZQ's White Tiger. And of course, the hat šŸ¤£.

Dase • 2 years ago

For me it is seeing Yan suffering in pain while explaining what happened lol

douluo • 2 years ago

Ikr. I was secretly hoping Hu Liena would kick him in him nuts as punishment šŸ˜†

Dase • 2 years ago

lol, that will be my job *evil laugh*
Judging from the preview for next week, I guess we are going back to following the novel, with the meeting of his grandfather

douluo • 2 years ago

Booyah--one of my favorites scenes in the novel. Tbh though I think Shen Yin Wangzuo robbed me of hype this week for DD lol--especially with three eps released on the same day. What a great start. How does the novel's story stack up, comparatively?

Dase • 2 years ago

Sadly I have not read Shenyin Wangzuo novel lol, but if I have to go by TJSS's weibo announcement, he was nervous actually, but he was very happy with the episodes released and he hopes everyone will enjoy it.

The studio isnt the same as the one for Soul Land though, this time round TJSS's company, Xuanshi Tangmen is working with Tencent and South China Angel in publishing Throne of Seals. Xuanshi Tangmen is responsible for his IPs So I am pretty sure he make sure it will be followed closely or be better lol

Edit: correction about TJSS's company

Youtube Addict • 2 years ago

Letā€™s stay hyped together just for our fav scene next week!

Throne of Seal is pretty good though, but the concept is kinda similar to DD. So Iā€™m not sure if I will read the novel. Maybe Iā€™ll decide impromptu if the donghua can hold its hype and pull me in completely. Of course if I do read the novel, I hope you can join me, then weā€™ll have more reasons to love or to hate TjSS.

douluo • 2 years ago

Yeah I'm going to wait a while to see if either the power system or the story are intriguing enough to pick up the novel. DD admittedly set a pretty high bar on the former.

Joas • 2 years ago

Seeing him alive was the worst part. Last episode I thought tang san was foolish to wait for the enemy to whip out his strongest move before whipping his own out, but that in the end I couldn't complain if tang san got the job done, but... nope, he prioritized flashiness over results, and suprise, he failed to kill him.

Youtube Addict • 2 years ago

I have to warn you: be prepared for more of these why-didnā€™t-you-kill-him moments. Letā€™s hope the donghua will reduce this kind of face-palming scenes in the future because the novel sure didnā€™t.

Dase • 2 years ago

mhm it annoys me when Qin Ming died when he didnt in the novel and yet Yan lives!!

Archie Andrew's 1000 • 2 years ago

That's the problem when a novel or ect is change with a tv adaptation where there is diverged.
A example is the US's "Walking Dead" comic compared to it's LA tv adaptation with adding characters that weren't in it, deaths were changes from original or not dead, and other tip bits that could be brought up.

Dase • 2 years ago

That is true, for the most part, Soul Land was following the novel closely, with some changes of course, not as much as Fanren or Yong Sheng, but this final arc, was weird, not sure whether it is due to the lockdown or they are getting close to the end. Hopefully it will go back closely to the novel next week

Archie Andrew's 1000 • 2 years ago

Lets hope

Dase • 2 years ago

Wudong Qiankun season 3 should be out on gogoanime soon, I just finished watching the first two on tencent, it is pretty good, fight scene not as dazzling as Doupo Cangqiong's Three Year Agreement special but it's just started :)

Archie Andrew's 1000 • 2 years ago

Probably be a long while to see those since I've got a lot see as is and the next one I got interest in is ZUIHOU DE ZHAOHUAN SHI since 2 eps are already out

Dase • 2 years ago

Ahh that one, pity it's only 12 episodes for this season

OfficialDrixMalone • 2 years ago

There's still HOPE Qin Ming isn't dead, it's a low possibility but I remain hopeful!!

Dase • 2 years ago

We shall see, lol

Fallen@ngel • 1 year ago

TS in novel would never have let the TD go alive as he would definitely be a strong opponent in the war later. That's so foolish. As a master strategist, it makes no sense that he didn't kill them. Its super weird that they let them go when they obviously have the advantage.

Dase • 1 year ago

I dont know what to say but the studio has made a lot of changes, switching events around, removing some events and swapping characters around during certain events, studio creativity at its worse, that is my opinion.

Fallen@ngel • 1 year ago

I agree with you. That's how they ruin shows to me. I much prefer the novel with all its flaws. At least we knew how extremely strong the MC was especially since he is talked about in soul land 2-4.5 like someone absurdly great. (I like how his intelligence is emphasised). Here, they tend to neglect that side of him.

Youtube Addict • 2 years ago

Yes!! I was hoping Yan would get roasted too but maybe they are leaving the best for the last! He needs to DIE!

The hat! I bet you mean XW's right? Dang, now every hat in the future should have ear sleeves or ear holes depending if you want to cover or expose them. But then it would sit too low down. But maybe for balaclava mask. What do you think? šŸ¤

douluo • 2 years ago

Those ear pockets šŸ¤£šŸ¤¦

Dase • 2 years ago

I can see TJSS authorising Xiao Wu's hat merchandise in various colours being manufactured before winter lol

Youtube Addict • 2 years ago

I think the bunny hat should only come in pink! And I will definitely keep an eye out for the merchandise, I follow that guy on Weibo and WeChat. Lol!!

Dase • 2 years ago

lol I just followed him recently, also Doupo Cangqiong's author as well, he recently announced a collaboration between his Absolute Resonance IP with a convenience store franchise along with a publishing company, I get the feeling that it will be made into a donghua later

Just watched a weibo video from the studio of Soul Land, they showed a little bit of the lockdown outside of their studio, where people are directed for covid testing, and then various staff gave their commitment to the fans and audiences of Soul Land. In summary they said they will put their very best in making Soul Land the best they can and they hope they wont disappoint the fans and audiences, they hope that under these trying circumstances with the Covid lockdown that fans and audiences will be patience and they thank everyone for their support which gives them the motivation to give their best in making the series, and they promise to make sure that Soul Land will continue to release a new episode each week.

They barely touched on their own circumstances while working from home, they were mainly apologetic and thankful for the support of fans and the audience. Such admirable dedication, *sigh* I hope they get through the covid lockdown and are safe and sound

Youtube Addict • 2 years ago

Thanks for sharing! In general, I do think they have done a good job most of the time. Most importantly, they actually listened to fans feedback, well sometimes maybe a little too much especially for some sugary scenes.

I still remember watching a warm-up video for ep134 (the one where XW sacrificed herself). They showed every dept in the team and interviews from those key people. That was quite an eye-opener for an artistically-challenged person like me.

What's a little surprising was that they cooperated with the Studio that made Throne of Seal for their joint promotion (e.g. the short clip at the end of the episode). But then again, maybe Tencent made them do it. The latter is actually not too bad as well. I watched 3 episodes of it and I do see the similarity with DD. Of course, it's typical TJSS' style. He's just good at going down to the last grain of details on his power system.

Dase • 2 years ago

Throne of Seal is another TJSS's work so it isnt surprising that they did a crossover promotion lol, and both are being published by Tencent so it isnt a loss for Tencent lol
This added with the fact that the studio producing Throne of Seal belongs to TJSS's company that produces his other IP (manhua, novel, and merchandises) not bad for one of richest or the richest web novelists in China, back in 2016 it was reported that he was worth 16.8 million USD at that time.
He does have a lot of influence in the media industry though, after the death of his wife, two people were fired from Alibaba Group publishing division for making derogatory remarks about him and his wife (they made fun of him by saying ā€œisnā€™t a big dealā€ and that he could ā€œeasily get another wife" in a private WeChat messaging group that leaked screenshots of the remarks. (this was right after she had died)

Correction here: Throne of Seal is being published by Tencent, China South Angel and TJSS's company, Xuanshi Tangmen. I got confused with Xuanshi Tangmen and Shenman Entertainment (the studio producing Throne of Seal)

Youtube Addict • 2 years ago

I read heā€™s being targeted a lot but I didnā€™t know about this particular issue. Thatā€™s just despicable! No one should make fun of another person or their families for whatever reason, whatā€™s more a deceased person. Itā€™s beyond low!

Actually I thought he was quite a character himself making some occasional gaffes and at times can be quite controversial. Since I donā€™t read Chinese, I donā€™t know exactly what he said or did to garner such treatment. I believe thereā€™s always two sides to a coin but then again, itā€™s known that the Chinese media and/or government is completely capable of twisting facts to suit their theories. Actually to be fair, that applies to any tyrannical person or government, like Russia maybe?

Dase • 2 years ago

I think some people are always envious of successive people especially when they are in the same industry, then again TJSS isnt by all means humble at the beginning lol

He said in an interview "I write great stories and I am gifted" lol that would probably rub some people the wrong way. Then again not many people knows about how much he struggled to get to the point where he is now. There is a live drama biography about him, based on a novel written by him called "For You, I'm Willing to Love the World", it is on Youtube, and of course the main actor is one of the most popular actor in China lol

douluo • 2 years ago

Wow...that's pretty heart breaking. What a monumental effort. I think I'll stop there before saying what I really think about lockdowns and get banned lol.

Dase • 2 years ago

Yeah, it is pretty sad, the highway and roads were pretty much empty except for medical and government workers at road stopovers. The staff on the clip looked exhausted and tired

Youtube Addict • 2 years ago

LOL!! Don't think their keyboard army stretches so far. But yes, don't say that on Weibo.šŸ˜†

Smiley Face • 2 years ago

That's pretty sad with what's happening over there. My prayers are with them.

Youtube Addict • 2 years ago

I was so excited last week but my anticipation waned after watching last episode as I felt they are veering away from the essence of the story. BUT I was proven wrong again. I actually like this episode a lot. It shows the direction and the progression of the story. I think it's finally back on track again!

One of the major problems that I often complained about was TS's uncaring and indifferent attitude towards the brewing war in the continent. Since theyā€™ve changed it, I'm finally free to rant about it. In the novel, TS and XW parted ways much earlier with the Shrek devils with reasons like XW is my utmost priority, etc. This reason is still acceptable when they first arrived back to the mainland because in the novel they were not aware of the happenings till much later.

But then, right after TS found out about Martial Empire lording over everyone and is seemingly hell bent on world domination, he still refused to go back to check things out. That to me was so out of character for TS especially when he, in his reply to XW, said those are not important to him, all he wanted was to spend his life with her away from all the conflicts.

Now the production team literally amended that tiny but important oversight. And what's even better, they finally gave Mubai a voice too! Not only TS appears more selfless but so are Mubai and the girls. They are far-sighted and they care about the future of the continent but at the same time they are also prioritising their brother TS.

I really can't praise the production team enough! Well.. maybe except for their odd fashion sense. Yes, that bunny cloak is sooo discreet. And the hat too! Perfect for hiding your identity! šŸ¤£

douluo • 2 years ago

Indeed, as much I like a good fight I was glad they quickly got back to the story heavy elements--revised to emphasize a more logical TS than the novel lol. It's a good sign to me that they're making an effort on the political/war strategy side of things.

Dase • 2 years ago

Hopefully next week's preview at the end is an indication that the donghua is back to following the novel lol

Dase • 2 years ago

Just finished watching the first two episodes of Wudong Qiankun season 3 on tencent, pretty good, story just began but I really missed Heavenly Silkworm Potato's humor lol

Character design is slightly different to the previous seasons, could be he is grown up a little or could be different studio

Anime God • 2 years ago

This was the best episode by far. Maybe i need to stop saying that because it seems to always make another epic episode. But Tang san Annihilating that technique and sending the Grand Exorcist Master flying was satisfying. Watching them cower as their victory got snatched from them was a great feeling my only issue is more of them needed to die.

They have been killing ruthlessly its time to return the favor an kill them all it shall be no report backs. They will have to search the battlefield in hopes to find remains if they are not evaporated. But i enjoyed this episode

Lone_Wolford • 2 years ago

Episode was good, hopefully things get better in china. It really pains me to watch this only for 10 minutes :C

RohanOf ElvenPower • 2 years ago

they could have focused more on the epic fight scene and emphasize the 4 red rings when reporting at least. This could have been done 3-5 times better! But oh well, this is good anyway :) Thanks studio for trying.

I may consider leaving this for a couple months and then binging in one go because its a bit anticlimatic at the moment with such short bursts :) I could binge this on a friday or a weekend when I got time to relax.

Dase • 2 years ago

But but.... you get to see someone awesome next week (from next week's preview at the end of the episode) :)

RohanOf ElvenPower • 2 years ago

Yeah I know :) to be fair they deviated from the novel but the novel part here was a bit booring. THey came back on the continent and met another clan of those werewolves and beat them easily. FIhgting martial soul here was a bit better than the werewolves :)

Dase • 2 years ago

I am waiting for the part in the forest :)

curazon • 2 years ago

i mean might just be my opinion but why the fuck do the villains have plot armor and easily rsn away, they should have atleast shown the death of a even 1 of the tribe chiefs present, they ran away so easily it's laughable

Dase • 2 years ago

It is simple really, villains have a special technique called "I can run faster than non villains" :P it is the golden rule of Chinese donghua
Besides dead villains means less story to tell, live villains can live to tell another story :)

Edward Elric • 2 years ago

the best part of this is Wu with the bunny coat
